Description

Kaltostat 3 x 4¾ is a sterile wound dressing composed of calcium-sodium alginate fibers. Upon contact with wound exudate, the dressing forms a firm gel-like fiber mat, creating a moist environment conducive to wound healing. This transformation helps in maintaining an optimal moisture balance at the wound site, supporting autolytic debridement and aiding in tissue regeneration.

The dressing is specifically designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Its high absorbency effectively manages wound drainage, reducing the risk of maceration to surrounding skin. The calcium component of the alginate helps in promoting hemostasis, offering mild bleeding control in superficial wounds.

Kaltostat is suitable for various types of wounds including Stage II to Stage IV pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, arterial ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, and partial-thickness burns. It is also indicated for the management of surgical incisions, abrasions, lacerations, and other traumatic wounds.
